1982 - Jets at Vikings (Week 16) - Enhanced NBC Broadcast - 1080p/60fps

I've enhanced the 1982 Week 16 Jets at Vikings game. This recording had very low contrast and drab color, but I was able to really bring it back using Resolve. I also used Topaz to upscale, sharpen, double the framerate, and revert compression. Love seeing this post Christmas game between the Jets Sack Exchange era against the Vikes during the first season of the brand new Metrodome. This was right before the Monday night showdown against Dallas to end the regular season and two weeks before the Vikes faced the Falcons in the wild card round during the special postseason tournament due to the strike.

OK--- Two entries for the 1982 Playoff Tournament. One random note- Tommy Kramer was always so cool with neighborhood kids, and was a go to Halloween Destination.

@@romelovesdan bless you too brother, I have an away Kramer Jersey. I had a home Kramer Jersey in the 80's, wish I still had it but the one I have is awesome. I grew up in Los Angeles and my fandom of the Vikings began in 88, we went to see them every time they came to the Coliseum to play the Rams and later Anaheim stadium. I have also been to Minneapolis to watch games.

When I moved to So CA, my best friends in individual elementary and Jr High Schools also in the LA area had Minnesota roots and were huge Vikings fans all the way! I hope Mr Volsky one day restores the first Vikings game I saw in person- 12/2/1979 vs Rams at the LA Coliseum. The game is in the huge batch I sent him for consideration

Ah, the 1982 strike-shortened season. The teams in the playoffs were seeded by straight-up record and not by division standings. Sounds like a better, more clearer system, doesn't it? :)

Well it goes to show you how mocking or gloating can come back to bite you. @ the 51:35 mark the Raiders defensive back made a great Interception. He had an easy Touchdown, he just needed to run, not mock the Denver offense. Instead he chose to do that and mock Denver. And instead of his first career Interception, he was tackled shy of the end zone. Oops. Sometimes karma can bite you very quickly. Gotta love it when that happens!

It looks like you're referencing the spotting of the ball after Minnesota appeared to have lost a yard on their first down play, yet the refs spotted it just inside the Minnesota 43? If not, then maybe the previous series when the Jets started at their own 47? 1st down dump off to Augustyniak for nearly ten yards, as he gets the ball down inside Minnesota's 44, yet they spot it right on the 44. Okay, fine. It's 2nd-and-1. McNeil's run on 2nd down looks to have gotten to the 43, but they're marked short. They measure and it's just short. Then Augustyniak runs it on 3rd and inches and while even the announcers thought he picked it up the spot shows that he actually lost yardage from where they placed it after second down! Then Todd sneaks it on 4th down and still can't get the 43. Hard to believe. In today's game they'd probably give it a look after that 2nd down play and just move the chains. I'm glad I was just a kid then and didn't remember this sequence otherwise I'd have been apoplectic. Is that entire thing what you're calling attention to? Great find on your part!
