This is a sacred Havan or Fire Ceremony, it started with the 3 great Mantras giving praise to the Devi and followed with the declaration of certain issues that are then ceremoniously offered into the fire with a prepared rice and herbal mixture for purification with a certain flourish over the head and then into the fire. After this ceremony one feels light and uplifted as so much has been offered and purified. Hope this was helpful.

At the end of the Havan there is Aarti, another more common worship of the Devi with the circling of burning fiery insense in what is called a Bandhan around Shri Mataji. Aarti is performed quite often. These ceremonies though quite common in India are filled with the amazing vibrations inherent in Sahaja yogi initiation and its blessings are felt on your central nervous system. The elevation that is felt stays with you long after you leave as part of your spiritual growth. Jai Shri Mataji!
