Wow, did this one ever enhance and restore nicely. This recording was in very good shape, but VERY dark. Was able to completely bring the brightness back with Resolve, as well as dial in the color. I also used Topaz to denoise, sharpen, upscale, and double the framerate. Incredible before/after shots here - imgbox.com/g/9... -- My thanks to Fort Knox and his Seahawks KZbin channel -- www.youtube.co... -- for providing the DVD files for this project.

Another great video sir! Thank you again! I've mentioned before that I'm a lifetime Packers fan, but also a total NFL FAN AS WELL! The Chargers, Seahawks, Chiefs, Broncos, and Raiders, back when they were all part of the AFC West. I also liked the🐬🐬Miami🐬Dolphins🐬🐬 in the AFC as well. Back in 70's the Seahawks had some really great players. Jim Zorn was the QB and a damn good one. Sherman Smith, a decent RB, and the Legendary Steve Largent, one of the BEST all-time WR's in the 🏈🏉NFL🏉🏈! The early 70's 🐬Dolphins🐬 were also epic! Larry Czonka, Bob Griese, Mercury Morris. This will be a great game to watch!

Morton was an underappreciated QB. His stats were better than Namath's, and as good as Stabler's, but they each WON the Super Bowl, so they made the HOF. Morton led two different franchises to their first ever SBs, but was a turnover machine in both games. Career stats: Morton 183 TD, 187 INT, 81-62-1 as a starter, only threw 20 INTs twice his entire career, 73.5 career QBR Stabler 194 TD, 222 INT, 96-49-1 as starter, threw 20, 30, 22 and 28 INTs in consecutive seasons, 75.3 QBR Namath 173 TD, 220 INT. 62-63-4, led the AFL in INTs four times, 65.5 QBR Namath was finished by age 34, Stabler was a terrible QB after he left Oakland, with a 66.1 QBR in Houston and N.O., while Morton had a resurgence in Denver, having 5 good seasons, throwing 74 TD and only 62 INT and a QBR of 79.7 - including a 90.5 at age 38, leading Denver to a 10-5 record. Craig suffered 3 bad years with the Giants, which was just a dreadful team while he was there. If you exclude those seasons, he threw 154 TD and 138 INT for his career, with a QBR over 78. I've always wondered if Craig had won the Big Game, would he be in enshrined in Canton? He was succeeded by arguably the two greatest QBs of all-time, Staubach and Elway, so many people forget that he was the QB who took both of those franchises to their first Super Bowls (and Denver to their first ever playoff run). Take out his NYG seasons, and his record as a starting QB was 73-37-1, a winning pct of 66.4. Stabler never played on a bad team, and his career winning pct was 66.2. Morton was 7-6 in playoff games, 0-2 in the SB Stabler was 6-6 in playoff games and 1-0 in SB (one of his losses was to Morton in 1977) Namath? Made the playoffs only twice, going 1-1 and winning the most famous SB ever. If those two guys are in the Hall of Fame, Morton should be, too. Peace

I remember this game vividly because it was our highlights game of the week on Channel 4 in the UK when I was a kid. The thing I remember the most was in the UK game intro they asked a young couple who were Dolphin fans what their predictions were for game and they laughing said "... Dolphins are going to win and Seattle would have a better chance if they didn't turn up " As a Hawks fan my blood boiled at the insult but we had the last laugh, 😊.Dave Kreig ( my all time favourite player) was in the zone and Curt Warner our rookie RB was at his sensational best and we dropped the hammer on Dolphins. Can't believe it was 40 years ago seeing the Hawks in the throw back uniforms last Sunday I half expected to see Kreig, Warner, Largent, Greene and Easley out there, Go Hawks

I was at the game in Miami, where I lived at the time. It was a nasty day, not typical Miami weather, rain and chilly. New Year's Eve. (And it was even worse that night; a terrible New Year's Eve for Miami). Marino had tweaked his knee a couple of weeks before and was not the same. The Dolphins lost this game but beat Seattle in the playoffs the next year.

New Year's 1984 reminds me of Mike Rozier (Nebraska's Heisman winner) complaining about the weather in Miami where it was -50° or worse wind chills in Nebraska. Then they proceeded to get upset by the irritating ass Canes 31-30. We went on vacation from Alabama to Florida and we escaped an ice/snow storm but chilly weather in the Tampa area. Seems like yesterday.

It's bad enough to do that anytime, but he did it in the worst possible circumstances. Is there even another time before or since that a player has lost a fumble on consecutive touches?! I'm certain it's never happened in the postseason. Walker kept Marino on the bench to prevent any hope for a late game winning or tying drive.

@steves9964 I think he would have been driven out from relentless fan and media assault. It's unbelievable to fumble back to back touches but to do it in THAT situation? Today he would be gone unless he was a hall of famer.

@@jmbuff1 No doubt. The question you originally posed on whether a player has lost multiple fumbles in the playoffs got me thinking. Kyle Williams had two key fumbles on punt returns for San Francisco in the 2011 NFC Championship game against the Giants. You hate to see it but he was a young kid thrown into the fire because Ted Ginn was out in that game, and Ginn was of course a solid, reliable if not spectacular punt returner. It really turned the game as one set up the Giants' go ahead score midway thru the 4th quarter while the second set up the winning field goal in overtime. An indelible image of that game was San Francisco brutalizing Eli Manning so much so that at one point he called a timeout late with his helmet pulled halfway off of his head with pieces of sod hanging from it. Anyway, not exactly the same thing as Walker because they occurred on punt returns and he did handle a couple of punts in between fumbles, but all the more devastating given it happened in a conference championship game and San Francisco seemed to be in control at that point.

In Fulton Walker's defense that football obviously got more damp as the game progressed, but @22:48 they showed that stat that he had led the NFL that regular season with 26.7 yards per KO return, before averaging just 17.3 yards per return off six KO returns in this game and that was the difference. Even before Coach Knox arrived, Seattle's KO coverage units were already legendary.

Interested to hear why the commentators thought Chuck Studely would be a good replacement for Bill Arnsparger as Defensive coach; does anybody have a view as to why he (Chuck) was sought out, and why the defensive performance deteriorated so much from 1983-86? thanks

I'm really enjoying these 80's Seahawks Games. I've had the pleasure of watching the work that you've done. I wonder if you can do some enhancement work on the 1983 AFC Wild Card Game Broncos vs Seahawks, the Week 13 Seahawks @ Broncos game from 1984, and Both Raiders vs Seahawks games from 1988.?? That would be nice to see.

Several months back I got all available Seahawk broadcasts from 78-84 in a trade and I've been working on them here and there amongst all the other games I have. I have another trade in the works to acquire the Seattle games from 85-88 as well. I have over 500 games total to possibly enhance at some point. I try to alternate between Seahawks, 49ers (of which I just got most games from 81-94) and all other games from 1970-84. I'll never live long enough to do them all, but I'm pumping them out like gangbusters as it is.

Hey no worries Jimmy, and thanks. I WISH I could do them all for sure :) I've literally been able to enhance about 8-10 games a week for a while now, but I'm sure I'll burn out at some point, or the NFL will step in and shut me down for a second time. I've been trying to do 1 or 2 Seahawk games a week. That Denver playoff game is in great shape, just dark, but I could totally remedy that.

I remember this like it was yesterday. When Largent made the big catch at the end I pretty much lost it. When Warner scored a play later I really lost it! We got killed by a better Raiders team in AFC championship, but the 83 season was a lot of fun. I've always wondered how the 84 season might have turned out if Warner didn't blow out his knee. Great video, thanks so much.
