Good to overcome lack of parts support from Honda. Did you check the squish clearance when everything was back together?

I’ve checked it since the first run 👍👍👍

Would you have any engine parts?

Wonderful! I’ve also got an ‘83 60R that I’m restoring.. yours looks pristine compared to the condition I got mine in. I’d heard about the kx65 conversion for the top end but never seen it done before, so I thank you greatly for documenting your experience in making the swap. Also, do you think it would also be possible to shave the extra height off the top of the piston with a lathe? I’m curious how the exhaust fits with the extra height of the cylinder. Anyway, good work and enjoy the best 60 ever made!

You could definitely take the top off the piston in the lathe - would want to look at the distance between top & the top ring though I think easiest option is to use a thicker base gasket for sure… only 0.5-1mm higher so exhaust fitment is negligible

What year is that piston from I really need to know bc I have a cr60 that I think that I need a Top end and the gasket please

The KX65 piston is the same from 2000 onwards but also the Base gasket you have to make with a thicker material as the 65 piston is slightly taller
