That was cool. Never repaired anything like that but it is interesting to watch the steps for sure! I have TVC stuff now and so much of that doesn’t have any electronics. But I do have the big AT-AT from 2009, so if that ever breaks down, nice to know that you can dig into the problem.

I had no idea Kenner made a Y-Wing model. I had the Landspeeder, the T.I.E. Fighter (with "battle damage" pop-off wings), the Taun-Taun, and the Bantha

@@kingshearer2 Sorry, yes, it was the Dewback lizard. We called it a "Bantha" ever since I was a little kid, but I guess only the elephant-ram thing was actually a "Bantha", and I don't think the original toy line ever had one.

No, Kenner never made a bantha. Hasbro has and so has Stan Solo.

The internals are quite flimsy to say the least, but great video, I'll persevere with getting everything to work.

Yes, they are. It isn't a bad idea to pick up a parts vehicle and put in the better parts to make a top working ship. Then sell the rest off on ebay.

@@classicalvintagecollector got it working didn't realise that the cannon spins as part of the sound effects it's brilliant! Never had this one as a kid. Still problem getting the landing gear to work, the front leg doesn't want to straighten so I have to intervene. Hopefully a minor adjustment! Thanks again for the great video👌

All the bliddy screws! Fixed landing gear now the electronics don't work I'm hoping it's the batteries good job I don't work for Kenner🤣

I'm in the process of doing this same repair, but ran into an issue with the landing gear. My pegs for the front landing gear were broken off, but still in the ship, so I simply super glued them. My issue is that the way the sled is laying in the body of the ship is somehow just off between the gears of the rear landing gears and the front landing apparatus. The front leg only retracts in all the way if I push it, and the rear landing legs then move by themselves, separate from the front leg. Any suggestions? I tried putting it together both with landing gear all in and all out -- neither provided a different result ☹️. Any advice?
