I used to watch these shows in the mid 80's. Now, after seeing so many amateur KZbin videos, the quality of these shows is just so refreshing. Schenkel and Burton did a great job explaining things.

It was even better when Bo and Earl were in the booth together. Those guys could truly make you understand how difficult the game is. We need that kind of commentating back on tour.

This was a myst watch every Saturday afternoon in the 80's Dad worked corporate for AMF in NY. Every Christmas we all got the newest bowling balls!

Zfishman, That was an awesome upload of the Stepladder Finals of the Denver Open. Also, The Opening Match between Earl Anthony and Bob Handley was crazy.

18:56 What Chris says here is clear evidence of just how much things can change drastically in bowling. Earl averaged 261 on that pair during all the qualifying rounds. Then shoots in the 160s here. It happens even to the greatest bowlers out there.

Earl was my all time favorite. A class act guy, cool and calm unlike Marshal Holman and Weber who were totally the opposite. RIP Earl.

Nice watching these shot makers not having to loft the 6th arrow and no pit crew behind them telling them what ball to throw and where to throw it.

Earl Anthony was originally from Tacoma Washington

That Husted pocket 6 pin (6-7 actually) isn’t that unusual. Used to do this a bit when I played the ditch, even with plastic.

It looked like the pocket was a little tight for Husted on that shot, and as much as those lanes were snapping that day...

@danielschrafel3158 Reminded me of a Tournament I Bowled at Garden city Lanes, when plastic was crossing the Headpin.. even with speed

I used to work at Celebrity. It was owned by Disney. It had 100 lanes. It's been gone for a very long time now.

I used to bowl leagues there a lot. I seem to recall that it had 36 lanes on one side and 44 on the other.

@@dennis5235456 They added lanes at some point. I can't recall the year.
