Lovely to see the legends of the game again, and be vaguely reminded of the true blue characters and sincere efforts they made, to make the game what it is today. I was too small to appreciate this on B/W TV but my dad had a passion for it and passed that on to me. Good memories of two Great gentlemen of the sport. Ty Wai Yau

Depends on who you were, where you lived, what your job was etc. 1983 was close to the height of the Thatcherite job losses, which eventually reached over 4 million.

It's an outdated format. Too many games are going to be someone potting a long red and then making a frame winning break within 10 minutes. That's why people want to see longer games.

@@pearcegreatesteverleftback03 Your living in a fantasy land. It had it's time in the 70's and early 80's and that was mostly about showcasing colour television. There's plenty of tournaments with big money on the line. We don't live in an era where there was no money in the competitive scene and players relied on exhibitions to pay their dues.

I know what you mean.He was a bit robotic in his prime,but he and Jimmy were my heroes of snooker as a boy,for different reasons.Davis,super dedicated,professional and precise,and Jimmy was very exciting.Now i think Ronnie is the best of both,and the most complete player.
