Purchased this car from Gateway Classics, you can still see it on line. I put over 160 hours of labor into making it perfect. 2 period correct rear rims, replaced seat motor and gearbox, replaced dash with functioning clock. All things function on this car, including horn as it should. New front end components, wires, door sills, window seals, sill plates, full tune up, oil change, detailed under hood, new belts, etc, etc, etc. This car runs and drives perfectly and passed a very difficult NH inspection and is registered and have title. My phone # is 1-617-513-9412

Owned a '82. That's a very nice one. Can't believe they're already 40 years old! My goodness time flies!

I still think these are the most beautiful Pontiac's ever!!! I've been searching for black on black '78 Grand Prix for years. Even one of the this year would be amazing.

I wish I was the one buying it. I love these Grand Prixs. I had a 79 for 12 hours. I bought it from my boss at the time and it was sitting for months and the thermostat was stuck closed and I was on the highway going to work when it overheated and blew the head gasket and freeze plugs.

I had an 83 exactly like that one but it had been repainted black the same color and the side trim removed. It had the cat removed and straight pipes when I got it and of course the air pump was removed. Same seats and everything. I know practically everything about that car. I drove it for 8 years from 1997 to 2005 up here in Ohio

Not a survivor. I ended up buying this car. Very poor bodywork, interior trim, and the vinyl top were PAINTED black. The car arrived Wednesday and I still have a lot of assessing to do.

Let me know, I spent a lot of time on this car to get it running and driving nice. It was only a $15k to 17K car. I hope you did not overpay. I replaced the seat motor, all new door and window gaskets, sill plates, brakes, fixed a bugged up tach install in the dash, new fuel tank, tuned, spark plugs etc.. It also had a bad bent rim I replaced 3 of them for better drivability. Everything functioned when I sold it including the clock. Let me know how yo make out. I did see the bad fix on the right rear quarter, but it looked to stand up to the test of ownership time. I told the buyer about it. I put at least 120 hrs into the car.

@thoenig2 I had to replace the carburetor as it was too big and flooding the engine. The engine timing was too far advanced so I was getting incomplete combustion, the timing change cover was bent (looks like someone didn't have a pully puller to get the hermonic balancer off) the hermonic balancer was out of alignment, 1 sparkplug was bad and 1 sparkplug wire was damaged at the sparkplug.

is that the chevy 305 ? What is the MT kit you refer to that provides 100 extra hp?
@JoeHynes284
@JoeHynes284 11 ай бұрын
could have been up to 155 stock, i'd bet 220-235 best case as shown. MT claimed nearly 200 on the dyno with exhaust and a little tuning, if you want to believe that...LT1 from 90s dynoed around 230-235, so you be the judge...

Cam, headers, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock, four barrel carburetor. i’m not sure of the exact horsepower numbers but it definitely wakes it up.
