Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is thrilled to present this iconic 1983 Pontiac Trans Am also known as KITT from Knight Rider. Everyone that grew up in the 80's will remember TV shows like Chips, Fall Guy, Dukes of Hazzard, but my all-time favorite was Knight Rider. I am a die hard Pontiac fan and Kitt was my favorite car of all-time when I was a kid. KITT stood for Knight Industries Two Thousand and was capable of driving 300 miles per hour, bulletproof, fireproof, and can talk. This ride was built to look just like the famous car on the show besides not having T-Tops. You can hook your Iphone or Ipad up to it and use an app that will allow the car to talk to you and the crowd of people that will surround you everywhere you go. This car is powered by the original 305 cubic inch small block and backed by a 700R4 Four speed automatic transmission. The interior looks just like it did in the original car with dual screens that are hooked up to a dvd player. The exterior is black and has the modified nose with the flashing red light bar and the blacked out rear tail section. If you are looking for an Iconic car from the 80's look no farther cause it doesn't get better than this ride.

That dash doesn't suit the car at all. Kits voice mechanism was to the right of the dash and not directly above the steering wheel. All in all still a cool looking car.

I am a straight up ASSHOLE about Knight Rider replicas. Yep, I said it. I can say that because I built my own. If I could share pictures here I would but it’s not allowed. Anyhow I just want to say this replica is one hell of a screen accurate car for what it is except for two very minor details. First, the tail lights didn’t have a hole drilled in them for the trunk release in that single pane piece of tinted lexan. It’s was solid but I get why they did it. The second is the upper console had a gap and residue of glue or something and a good gap in it. Fix that issue and ditch the fender antenna and I would say you are ready for the screen. My dash is 4th season with one monitor but that older version in your car is impressive, as is the rest of the interior and exterior. Hell you could see your camera man in the reflection. LOL!!! 🤣 🎥 By the way, good footage camera guy. 👍🏻

Yes, I was going to mention that but in some scenes you can see the grid on the show so I don’t think it’s anything to get in a twist about. Besides if you want an all clear one you can scrape the defroster grid out with a razor blade.

Don’t worry I was just watching that video + it’s not an 83 I’m looking for but an 82 trans am T-Tops with real PDM seat. No matter de color or the modifications to bring it, I know how to change it. But I have to admit it is still a nice replica. Now I know that in the show there was some 83 trans am used as stunt cars but we all know (or almost) that K.I.T.T. is an 1982 Pontiac Trans-am black with T-Top and Automatically transmission with PMD seats and oh there are so many, many more details for a perfect replica that I’m sure you know it. But buying a K.I.T.T. ? Hmm…Nah. Because where is the fun ? And it is a way to have something to do after work. Oh and I wanted to tell you congratulations for making your own K.I.T.T. I still don’t have the car but I know that you must having a lot of days and months to make it. Be proud of yourself and keep believing in yourself !
