In the "Mikie" version, the character was changed to a blond haired punk of sorts as the focus of the game was now set in an American high school of sorts (the coats used as the life counter was now changed to the US flag for instance). Other alterations include the first room that is now called a "Classroom", though the names of the other rooms/locales remained though they could've renamed the "Restaurant" to a "Cafeteria" since that is a more common term for where kids go to eat in school (I noticed it was called a "Canteen" in one version). The cops/guards in the "Garden" were replaced with football players, though the area might as call have been called a "School Yard" or "Campus Grounds" instead.

Wikipediaだとこんな表記がありました。 ショーに出展されたロケテストバージョンでは設定が「高校生が学校から抜け出す」というものであったが、開発当時は校内暴力が問題化していたことも影響してか、製品化の際は設定を「新入社員が会社から抜け出す」に変更してリリースされた[1]。それに伴いグラフィックも変更されているが、オフィスなのに教室のような机の配置や、バスゲットボールがある更衣室など、アイテムや背景などの随所にその名残が見られる。その代わりに海外版 "Mikie"（マイキー）で当初予定していた設定で発売され、グラフィックはアメリカのハイスクール風となっている。
