That's actually a "1983" prototype, 1 of 33 ever made and only one still exits at the Corvette museum and those wheels NEVER made it into production

I came here to look for this comment. I thought it was the 83 but wasn't sure. I thought the 83 never had a drive train tho?

@@hugoschmeisser2484 Several running test mules (with basic 305's) were made in 1983. The one at the museum I believe does have a drivetrain not 100%??

Love this! The C4 was over the top for its time but somehow became one of the least respected generations of Corvette. It pretty much saved the car. I’ve owned my 88 35th Anniversary car for over 22 years and it throws me back to the 80’s whenever I drive it. When I want to throw time back even further I drive my 71 LS5 4 spd Coupe. Couldn’t be happier to see the advancements with the C8. The Corvette is true automotive history.

I love these old corvette info shows. I was in my early 20’s at this time. Loved the end of the c3 models but way too expensive for a kid. I’m in my 60’s now and own a 81 c3 with 20k miles and a true original survivor I love that car almost as much as my family

This a great find! This looks like the dealership laser disc for the never released 1983 model. The 15" wheels were never available on the C4.

I bought a 1990 ZR-1 in April 2018. Was looking for a Vette but never considered a C4. I got a smokin deal on my Z, and I'm very proud of this bad boy. The C4 has caught a lot of crap over the years. I'm glad I bought this machine, I drive it as often as possible, she screams and is a blast to drive. I put on some Def Leppard and feels like the 80s again. Nice post, cool machines. 👍👍🏁🏁

Those rims didn’t make it to production. I owned a red 84 for several years. It was a good car…the dashboard was quirky and would go out from time to time.

There's no way I can get out of my C4 as fast as the guy at 5:00 :D

By the looks of the wheels on this red Corvette it appears to be one of the 83 's . All of them were destroyed on the lot of the Bowling Green assembly plant . All except one . The story of the only 83 and how it came to be can be seen at the NCM website . The white 83 now resides at the NCM and was given to the museum by Chevrolet . A really cool story about the 83 and the events that preserved it . Actually search here on KZbin for the story of the only remaining 1983 Corvette .

I’ve owned my 84 C4 since November of 2019. It’s my favorite car to drive. Still looks brand new, inside, outside, and under the hood. It even has the original exhaust system, and man, is it ever loud.

the mufflers are probably stainless, but the baffles inside were not, so it;'s probably just an empty can instead of a muffler now.

Why don’t you just tell them what year it is plus you’ll never see a 1983 Chevrolet Corvette registered

My uncle in Trumbull, CT John Schaffer passed away few years and looking for his red 1999 Vette it had only like 20,000 miles and was always stored in a heated garage. It was only taken out a few times a year. I would like to buy it but currently lost my job thanks to covid. Just curious who owns and planning to buy it later on in life once I have the funds. He really loved the car and no joke it looks brand new and literally perfect condition.

This is awesome, but the bigger question is this: Do people still have LaserDisc players? I remember them in the '90s and early '00s.

“Destined to become another classic” well considering I bought my z51 4speed for 2 grand… I’d say it most certainly did not.
