1984 Lamborghini Countach 5000 S:
--White with White leather interior with Black carpeting, 4.8 Liter V12, 5-Speed manual gearbox, 65,000 Kilometers/40,000 miles from new, Long term ownership.
Widely regarded as the most outrageous car ever built, the Countach represented the promise of automotive design throughout the 70s and 80s. While there have been faster cars built, no car before or since has the presence of a Countach.
The world met Lamborghini's Countach at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. Styled by Marcello Gandini of Carrozzeria G. Bertone, who had created the earlier Miura, it struck out in new dimensions. Constructed almost entirely of trapezoidal aluminum panels over a space frame, it was but 42 inches high and 163 inches long. The most outrageous feature was what is now called “Lambo doors,” hinged at the front with horizontal hinges so that they swing upward in scissor fashion. Not simply for art, the doors are useful, in that they allow opening in tight spaces.
Power comes from a mid-mounted 4.8 liter V-12 with six side draft Weber Carburetors producing 375 BHP @ 7000 RPM and 302 ft-lbs of torque @ 5200 rpm. This Countach is capable of 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds with a top speed of 178 MPH.
Finished in striking all-white livery and equipped with the optional rear wing, this Countach 5000 S is the 595th Countach built and one of 321 examples of the 5000 S manufactured between 1982 and 1985.
This Countach is said to have been purchased new by a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family in 1984 and delivered by Lamborghini to their well-known, long-time Lamborghini dealership Achilli in Milan. Achilli was responsible for RoW (Rest of the World) markets and the delivery of new cars when ordered.
This Lambo Countach was imported to Norway in 1987 by prominent Lamborghini collector, Harald Skjøldt. Autosport Designs, Inc. also had the pleasure of selling the x-Frank Sinatra P400 Miura to Mr. Skjøldt many years ago. Mr. Skjøldt Lamborghini's have always been kept in concours condition, many having been shown at well-known concours around the world.
Purchased by its most recent owner in 2005, the Lambo was imported to the UK where is has been kept by its most recent owner who has maintained the Countach to a high standard since. The Countach has received an engine out service, it has been serviced when and where needed and has received a bare metal repaint in 2009. While in this most recent ownership, this Countach has been stored in a climate controlled professional storage facility to ensure its condition being kept tip top.
Still jaw dropingly beautiful and menacing, even by today's standards, the Countach has lost none of its presence since the day it was launched to the public many years ago. This represents an exciting opportunity to acquire a rare, side draft carbureted Countach 5000 S that has always been cared for properly and never molested. This is what Italian supercars have been modeled after, a true icon of the Italian supercar world.

La Countach va al di là dell'essere una supercar: è un sogno, un simbolo, il manifesto dell'automobile estrema... e i suoi difetti, sotto questo punto di vista, diventano pregi ❤

Considering it actually causes the front end to lift up at speed (80-120+, can't remember offhand) it would definitely be a good idea. Looks wise, epic... driving wise, dangerous.

My only question is, how much did it sell for? It's only been 3 days, but that car, in white, in perfect shape... it's gotta be sold already! My oldest brother gave me a framed picture of this car back in 92', it was my first car poster. This, ths RUF 935, and the Ferrari Testarossa were my dream cars from age 6 up. Is it just me, or does that V12 have a touch of VW sound to the induction and valve train? Not a bad thing, actually sounds really cool, but it might be some pinging you'll wanna look at or valve clatter. That or the audio was off... didn't sound like it normally would. Great video!
