I've returned.
Anyways, Paris, Texas is a good movie.
There are few films that I put in its realm. It is an elemental piece of cinema that captures such a specific feeling of the loss of self in a world that is too damn big. In my opinion, Paris, Texas is the Great American Movie. It just so happens to be directed by a German guy. Which makes sense. We're a nation of outsiders and immigrants (most of us), so the perfect vision of what America is, is perfectly captured by an outsider.
