The loss to Navy is not as bad comparing losing to OSU in the Gator bowl. Need to finish strong for next season.

I understand your perspective, but I would argue that this is a worse loss. If they won this one, they would have been 11-0 and would likely have played Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl for a national championship. Navy was a 4-6-1 in 1984 and was without their star running back this game. This should have been an easy win for South Carolina. And had SC won a national championship, the trajectory of their program would have drastically changed forever. This loss was their greatest disaster ever.
