That removable headlight idea is just genius. I don't think I've seen that on any of the newer quads?

I know the honda big red 350 4x4 at that time biggest baddest workhorse of 1986 was $3,847 which was a shit ton at that time in 2022 dollars is $10,147. Ironically is what you can get a 2022 honda Rincon 675cc 4x4 now

@@Joseph93-k6q I know the first year Big Red ATC, 82' was about $1650. Not sure on the 85'. An 85' ATC 250R was about $22 or $2300, so less than that I'd guess. Probably right around what you're thinking.

Bought an 1985 Big Red 250 es when I was 13. I made 3 bucks an hour pouring concrete with my Dad's co after school, weekends and long summer days. Loved that machine. Wouldn't mind having one again. I had a Grizzly 660 for 5 years about 10 years ago. I think I would just as soon get an used Big Red.

There was fake news even back in the 1980s. There are tons of 3-wheeled trikes on the highways now with a bicycle tire in the front and 2 car tires in the back that are not falling over. My 1985 ATC250SX is very stable.

@@Genesis23OPB Try googling the number of deaths per year on ATVs and compare the numbers by year. There were approximately 250 ATV-related deaths in 1985. There was no significant decrease in numbers after they stopped making ATCs. The number of ATV deaths per year is much higher now than it was for 1985, some years more than 3 times more. The peak years appear to be 2006 and 2007 with more than 830 deaths per year for each of those years. 250 deaths (1985) vs. 832 deaths (2006).

No other brand will ever get the reputation that Honda has for reliability. Until I see a cforce run for 40 years, being ridden hard, sank and wrecked, and still run like a top I'm not gonna believe a new Chinese brand will take over Hondas reputation.
