This team missed the National Championship by three points, a loss to Iowa 12-10...Iowa never crossed the goal, and a 3=3 tie with Illinois. Michigan had a touchdown called back on a bad call at Illinois that they should have won 10-3. Michigan later went on to defeat Nebraska in a come from behind win to go 10-1-1 and a number 2 ranking behind Oklahoma .

Well, you can say the Offense was anemic if you like, but if I remember this correctly Iowa lost to OSU, and of course the Wolverines beat OSU in A2 with a guy named Harbaugh as quarterback, oh yeah the number 1 defense in the country. the year before, 6-6...........

Chuck Long was a great college football quarterback, drafted by the Lions, and well.......meanwhile Harbaugh was in the NFL of over a decade, became a coach and well......... Interesting watching this game and the offensive precision that this Bo coached team possessed. Clean crisp blocks, pulling guards and tackles putting a helmet on their men and driving them into the turf. Backs hitting the holes, and the OB throwing strikes in spite of pressure. Dominating line play by the D, and linebackers filling and covering the backs and QB. Ball-hawking secondary. And to think, the QB who played this game is NOW the coach of this Meechigan team!
