Nice car. Saw a grey one the other day. It'll be featured in my next video. Don't see them much anymore.

I have two of these ex Columbus GA pd units I'd like to sell complete and easy restorations

John Sizemore are you still selling these things in columbus? I would love to have ANOTHER one. The one I have right now I love but having two would be great. I currently live in Birmingham but when I moved from Columbus, we had to put some things in storage down there. I lived near Shaw high school/Blackmon road middle. Next time I'm getting stuff from my storage, I would love to come by and see them.

Perhaps the most boring vehicle ever built.

Naa he's right..BORING!..I had 2 Diplomats retired police cars just because I liked old cop cars and you could buy them CHEAP back then. Figured they would be the top of the overall performance line for MOPAR in the 80's. UUGH!!! Those 80's M bodies were quite ugly and absolute dogs. Reliable but c'mon a smogger 318 in a cop car??? What a whole 180 HP??? The larger police forces ended up buying Mustangs and Camaros for pursuit cars...what does that tell you. I even did quite a bit to the engine to try to get a little more zip out of those snails...time, money, and effort wasted without pulling the engine and doing it right or transplant a 360 into it. The transverse torsion bar setup was just awful for handling...once described as a "shweeb-a deeb" feeling by one of the more popular automobile magazines I read back then and they were right. Everything underneath was rubber mounted. They were reliable boring transportation if you didn't really care what you drove just as long as you got there. And even though they were older models the 1978 and earlier B and C body cars that were replaced by the M body were actually light years better in overall performance...I had a couple of those too.

@@bultacowally B-body all the way! Love our 68 RR, Doing a 63 Belvedere soon. The Diplomats were defiantly not the most interesting, but as you said, getting the cop models was the way to go!

It is boring but it doesn't have to be. Ultimate sleeper right here. Can you shoehorn a 440 in there? If I only had the money I'd have the fastest piece of 80s shit Chrysler ever made

@@bultacowally yoir average olive dept (eg; the NYPD) isn’t looking for speed as we don’t engage in high speed pursuits. They really only go for that stuff for the hwy cars. I must say that the crown Vic was the best we had .
