Good video. I have found it easier to twist the impeller into the impeller housing and then slide the housing with the impeller onto the drive shaft.

Do you know where I can find the blue washer that goes on the top of the copper tube? I just replaced the water pump on a new to me 97 25 HP (thanks to your video). But that washer is missing and it is allow a lot of water to flow back into the mid-section/exhaust housing. Any ideas?

I’ve ordered several parts for this motor from them. However, the washer is discontinued. I did pick up a rubber grommet and installed it. It seems to work for now, but I am worried about how much heat it can stand before breaking down since it is near the head.

what could the reason be if the water impeller is changed but the outborad still wont pee?

there looks like a blue rubber washer on the top end of the copper tube. I Don't have this and it didn't come with kit. Whats it called and where do I get one?

I have the exact same question, my pump looks perfect, and is brand new, I've disassembled and reassembled three times and counting, it only pumps when I rev up the motor, mine doesn't have that blue thing at the top either and I'm wondering if that is my problem.

@@thisoldoutboard Oh my got, this was my problem, and I'll post the link here because I know others will make the same mistake I did, especially if they are using the ear muff water injectors. Just get a cheap garbage barrel from walmart, and make sure the lower unit is underwater up to, or above the pump level, not just the intake holes. Yes, you want to lube up all the surfaces that contact the rubber impeller

The video was helpful but for someone who bought the kit and wanted instructions replacing all the components there are better videos that get a little more in depth
