Dig yer channel drivvah. I really find ya refreshing and down to earth. I am a 52 yr old truck freak in California and always thought that Nor Cal log and lumber guys built the coolest rides. VERY COOL seeing a channel that loves some of the less popular Iron and shares why they are cool too! B model power, set o boxes... YOU. My man have it! Hope life's taking good care of ya and thanks for running what we cannot even see anymore in my state! Cheers from a carpenter in Santa Cruz Ca! Make my day seeing vids like these!

@@Jdigger4130 wow, thank you so much for the kind comment man. Glad you enjoy the channel. There was so many beautiful old trucks in CA. Appreciate you watching and hope to be able to make some more videos that are enjoyable.

Looks like main and brownie are swapped. That main box is odd too it’s looks like it doesn’t have the brownie H to it. High gear looks like it’s not where it’s supposed to be. Against the dash c’mon! Cool vid. That old Cat brings back childhood memories. Thank you!!

@@79_Trucker the main was a 5 direct. In the western stars, autocars, and Mack’s the auxiliary was closest to the drivers seat and main was the stick over, from my experience and seeing different trucks with spicers. Thank you for watching

Brilliant video man will you please do more exactly like this one only a lot longer but in the next one include engine start up and shift really high rpm because this thing sounds amazing at that higher rpm and I love trucks so that’s why I wanted to comment on your video and tell you what an awesome truck you have to And I’m fixing to subscribe your channel. Stay safe man and have a great one.

I love your videos so much. Could you make a few cold starts in some old trucks with this view? I’d love to see what you do with the throttle during cold starts
@Rareoldtrucks2 күн бұрын
@@gearhead9943 thank you. In a cold start I have never done anything with the throttle at all. Some guys like to hit it 1 time and then fire it off. I like to start it and let it run and after a bit I will bump the idle up to about 1000 rpm with the hand throttle and let the engine warm up.

Mint shifting. Ermm, hope you can run a hill loaded and then start downshifting. havent seen a vid on utube yet doing that. everyone is accelerating. Nobody shows the hard part.

I did some downshifting in this video, although I am empty. I have taken this truck coast to coast, across wolf creek pass, and some other passes and mountain roads, loaded. Of course day to day work I was never really thinking of making a video, wish I did on some of the runs and heavy hauls I have done with this set up.
