I have a 2002 model I bought new, and it currently has 118K miles on it, all mine, mostly highway. This is my second new Vulcan 750, the first being a 1993, I sold it in 2001 with close to 90K miles on it to buy a KLR650, that didn't work out, less than a year later I sold that and bought the 2002 Vulcan 750. These are the most comfortable bikes I have ever ridden, out of more than 50 (the KLR was a torture device) and they have great performance for a 750cc v twin. But they do have their issues. The cam chain tensioners are junk, and tend to fail after 10K to 15K miles. If you don't do something quick, the cam chains will break or jump teeth, destroying the engine. There are manual tensioners available to solve that problem. The stators tend to fail, and you have to replace the engine to replace them. The rubber dampers in the balancer tend to deteriorate, allowing the balancer to wobble and cut through the case, again destroying the engine. Replacing them is also an engine out job. There is no way to remove the left side engine case cover without removing the engine, and both the balancer and stator are under that cover. The last major issue is the final drive splines. This is common to many shaft drive bikes. The splines MUST be lubed with MOLY grease every 10K miles. That requires removing the rear wheel and final drive unit. But the specific issue with the Vulcan 750 is that the manual says to lube them at 10K miles. Unfortunately 99% of them were never lubed at the factory. So by the time they reached 10K miles, there was often significant damage to the final drive unit. As for design, these bikes are a mechanical NIGHTMARE. They have twice the parts in the engine that they actually need. FOUR cams, FOUR cam chains, FOUR cam chain tensioners, 2 jackshafts, A LOT of cam chain guides, made out of plastic, FOUR spark plugs in a twin, 2 carburetors designed as one part, and almost impossible to remove and reinstall. Two throttle cables. An internal balancer. An external bevel drive gearcase, instead of having it inside the transmission. They are liquid cooled, and have a super convoluted intake and exhaust system. It looks like the engineers went WAY out of their way to see just how complicated they could make it. I was surprised that I couldn't find a kitchen sink. I love these bikes for their comfort and performance, and their old school Japanese cruiser looks. I have over 200K miles on them. But even if they were still made, I would not buy another. I now have a beautiful 2006 carbureted Harley Sportster 1200, and after seeing just how simple it is compared to the Vulcan 750, I will likely be riding Sportsters from now on. Carbureted Sportsters.

Man! I thought he liked the bike. Managed to put 100k+ on apparently the most problematic engine ever! 2X!

Wow!! Amazing video and bike. My very first bike loved it and looking to get another 750 after selling my old one when I moved from west coast (San Francisco) to east coast (NYC-Bronx)! Wow....looks great love the custom and seat. If had the funds now and winter were not coming I would be so up on this (also depending where you all are located). Again thanks for the great video - amazing bike! Truth it is a great looking bike.
