1986 Mercedes Benz W124 300E Cold Start at -25°C (-13°F)

Starting my 1986 W124 300E without block heater on the coldest morning so far this winter.
I also have probably f'd up KE-Jet settings in this M103, so the engine could start better had it been properly tuned

Good old KE-Jetronic I assume...had no personal experience with it but have heard all too often of its fussy nature

yeah, I presume the cold start injector wasn't working, as in the summer it had a bit of a long start when hot.

My 260E (same engine) starts within 2 seconds at - 25°C. Probably, as you write, there's something wrong with your KE. Maybe the cold start valve itself or the temperature sensor which is important for the control of it... Does it run good besides from the cold start? How does it rum if you cut of the engine control unit? (Has tun run perfect when warm, because of the mechanic system the KE bases on) Greetings from Germany, the birthplace of your 300E 😉

The car started like a charm in -10 and warmer. Shame I had to sell the car as I had a major accident with it. It protected me and my friends, damages were only financial and emotional :)
