Fouts was performing surgery out there. Their offense was explosive: Charlie Joiner, Wes Chandler, Keller Winslow, Gary Anderson,.Lionel "Lil Train" James. They were the first team to exploit the entire passing tree in the passing offense, especially vertically. Utilizing TEs and RBs. We don't give Don Coryell enough credit for bringing this style to the league at a time when it was needed Ironically, Joe Gibbs was a disciple of Coryell as an Asst. Coach in St. Louis and later on with San Diego helped devise and create that offense to a groundbreaking level. His work there, helped him get the job in Washington A Teacher vs. Student matchup... Btw, Jim.Lachey is playing in this game.
