Seeing this buggy again after over 30 years is so nostalgic - the memories of building it with my dad came flooding back. Thanks my man.

Love the restoration Luke as always. I remember these from back in the day. A school friend had one but unfortunately it was one rather fragile buggy. Poor thing was always broken.. didn't help that he sent the thing off everything lol. Never thought much of them, but now in 2024 I like them. I agree Tamiya should re-re this kit. Lot's of Falcon fans around. Iconic buggy.

I had one in '86. Fun kit to build. Very fragile though. Broke quite a lot. Sold it, got rc10, never looked back. The shocks can be excellent however not in the stock config. They are way too stiff for the weight of the car. You can see in the running footage the suspension doesn't work at all. Just sitting right at the top. Hence the 'bouncy' feel. A fellow racer back in the day who also had one tipped me off at a race one day and told me to use the optional 4 hole pistons that came in the kit on the parts tree with the shocks. I put them in and it transformed the car. The suspension came alive and the car ran fantastic. Funny, but virtually all Tamiya kits I've ever had have had the shocks way too stiff for the running weight hence making the shocks useless. Try it, you might be impressed. Those yellow shocks are very good actually. Just set up completely wrong in the stock config. They need to be much softer so it isn't locked at full up position at all times. cheers, nice resto.

Amazing job Luke like always, l got one of these for my 12th birthday in good old 1986, l wanted the Hunter or hornet but my dad talked me in to the falcon, it seemed heavy and slow with a very weak front end, but now l really want one again after watch this lol.

Gonna run mine for the first time on Monday. Has a 1060 and a sport tuned. I couldn’t get that crp brace to work with my stock bumper at all.. I did a test run and it popped the new crp dog bones so I made suspension limiters with zip ties for the run. Gonna put it up against one of the other vintage buggies in the back yard race

i remember buying the falcon a year after i bought my hornet. i let a friend drive it and he ran it into the sewer and busted the front bumper and suspension. i meant to fix it, but it sat for years on the bench in the garage and finally somebody stole it. i still have a front and rear shock and the rear gear box parts and the motor cage.... and a rear axle as well as the body! wish it fit on some other car!
