I miss 1987. I barely remember it but I miss it. I miss going out back to a poorly built half pipe and trying the most basic over the coping tricks on a old mongoose expert with some success. I don't miss the video quality or the music used on a lot of these old bmx tapes. Video quality progressed alot in the 1990's. Trick #60 in this video is still the most visually impactful but I am also more inclined to follow Matt Hoffman because at the time he was the most well know bmx pro that was sort of local to me. Again, that all changed in the 1990's when Homeless bikes took on the Austin Scene and 9th street trails became a mecca of bmx

Yes, I uploaded the wrong one... Was not the color-corrected one, it was simply the upscaled video.

I have some 1986? footage of local freestyle and some local competitions in Denver Co on VHS, I haven’t watched it in 20 years, I want to upload to YT but not sure best way?
@OldSchoolBMXTV2 ай бұрын
You need to convert it first... There are many kits available to do this, the issue is if you have a working VHS player. The recent VHS player I had died so I can't offer you my service right now. You can't find them online if you need them, but they can be pretty expensive. Plus you really got to read carefully in the descriptions to make sure that they are fully functioning and working as a lot of them out. There are just being sold as parts. There also are companies that will do this for you obviously at a cost so you can look into that as well to get a digitized

@@OldSchoolBMXTV dude I appreciate the info, I will check into a service that can convert for me, it’s literally history at this point, I had probably the very first Haro Freestylers in the state of Co back then, did lots of competitions and shows, I want you to share the footage with KZbin so people can see this footage and competitions, thanks again

Yeah I converted all the ones I had but again you know that's when I had a working VCR you know how hard it is in 2024 to find a VCR repairman???
