Another honest and true video. I don't think 80's car with the exception of very few, will ever be collectible. People ask way too much and they don't think a bad top or broken fillers is a big deal. You have convinced me to stick with 50's or 60's in my case.Glad you got it sold to a good guy. I too am getting turned off the hobby and I think many are as well which is too bad. The other thing that bothers me even more is the people that hoard cars and would rather let them rot than sell them. A guy near me has 300 cars, all 50's and 60's and he wouldn't sell you a nut and bolt. Guess I'll wait for the inevitable estate sale.( if I live that long lol).

Yes/,the hobby is infested with trash. We just must endure and look for the good people. I will NEVER use Kijiji again or autotrader. Both full of scammers. Only Hemmings and for the reasons I have said in my videos. Please like and subscribe. Thank you for watching!

The Golden Rule right- do unto others. I think any free site like Marketplace or Kijiji is going to attract such people. Hemmings charges people to use their site- so only serious buyers and sellers are there. Just glad it ended well. Thank you for watching!

Facebook Cadillac groups are full of well informed Cadillac guys. Try Cadillac Addicts. There are also groups just for original Cadillac Cars or customs. Only advice is to NEVER ask anyone on the internet what your car is worth. That is like asking the cat to babysit the mice. Huge Mistake. I use Cadillacville for parts. 1986 was the first year the Oldsmobile 5 litre 307 V8 was offered in the Cadillac Brougham. It's a very good engine and easy to work on with very little sensors to fail and is not overly computerized. Invest in a shop manual for engine and car and a separate manual for the quadra jet carb. You soon will be able to do all your own repairs. These cars- with the 307 in particular rely heavily on Engine Vacuum. If even one vacuum line is off- it can affect performance and even lead to a misfire. Thank you for watching!

Hello I have a 1989 Cadillac coupe DeVille very nice beautiful car but I'm having problems with the digital fuel reader and the digital ac gauges or control panel. The fuel reader is giving a D or C code and the ac blower blows constantly and I can control it. In your expert opinion what is going on I'm in dyer need of your help to get it on the road.

Brother, I have an ‘89, too…different trim; nevertheless, I refuel (usually @Costco) about every three days or so…local driving only. My fuel gauge stopped working. If I drive more than 30 mins to and from, I’ll refuel upon my return. My heater/ ac went out, but I was able to get a an AC Delco certified mechanic to at least get the heater going again using the windshield button, but comes from the lower vents (only high speed, but i can control the temp)…when i feel it is warm enough, i just press on OFF. Maybe an AC Delco mechanic can do the same for your A/C. Beware of some dealership service departments. The cars are old (parts getting harder to find, etc) so as long as they are “road worthy” I wouldnt try or expect to get everything back to normal. Search the AC Delco website for some of the nearest certified mechanics, then search which ones near you have the most 4.5 to 5-star Google reviews. Worked for me, when it came to electrical; blower control/ module if I recall correctly. I’m going to try to get my A/C going in the Spring time. Hope she lasts you a long time. Thanks for sharing that info. I did see that there is a blower motor resistor that could be bad I be doing some research and when I get down to the bottom of it I'll let you know as well! 👍🏽👍🏽

In our personal experience- it can sometimes be cheaper to find a good used digital cluster- then trying to repair one with as many issues as yours. The other comments were dead on- a good mechanic familiar with this issue is a lifesaver. They may also be able to locate you a good used unit.
