Sweet memories! I got a new one in 1983. Travelled all over Europe and Middle-East. Doing 90mph on German autobahn with a 20 foot trailer was fun.

I still have my 85 Chevy short bed since 91. Still going strong and is still my daily driver. Regular maintenance and love is all she needs.

Survivors rule as far as Im concerned. But of course they are never cheap, but why would they be? You pay a premium price for a premium vehicle. Thanks for taking me back to '87. Max is likely a future owner of Volo, better be nice to him guys lol! As far as the half roof goes, I wouldnt waste my time. I had a '74 Jimmy, and the entire roof came off, which was cool, so I took it off lots. I also had a soft top for it was well. I had a rope system in my garage so that I could back in there and take it off myself with ease!

Sounds like a good daily driver if you are in the market for a truck. Cheaper and more reliable than the garbage that is on the lots now. The only problem is the financing? Definitely will turn heads.

Same here. Had a blown intake gasket changed and a tune up at a local shop. Picked it up, drove a few miles and oil pressure went to zero. About a minute later, it started knocking bad. Towed it back to the shop and was told gasket material clogged the oil pick up. I raised h3ll but they said it wasn't their fault. I had it towed to my local Chevy dealer to have a 350 crate motor installed. Sold it to a buddy after I bought a Tahoe.

@commonsense_2023 Was it confirmed that gasket material was the culprit ? It should have been somewhat easily determined whether it was Intake material or gasket material related to the recent repair. How did the shop discern that it wasn't related to their repair ?
@commonsense_202327 күн бұрын
@@cliffhaskett7703 the guy said it looked like part of the intake gasket. He said if I had asked for an oil change that most likely that piece would've came out. I hadn't had any motor work previously and definitely had a few oil changes so I don't believe it was there before. Either way, they wouldn't repair my motor. It was a weak 305 with close to 90k miles and I planned on doing a 350 swap later on. This just sped up my time-line

The back top is removable--but it takes 2 or 3 people to remove it. Problem is, if it rains-you and the interior are getting wet!! Best to leave it on or get an aftermarket rear soft top kit! 👍😎👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Cars and trucks like this should not be taken out on a public road for test drives. I’m surprised at you Jay. I can’t tell you how many times I’m driving down the road and a stone will fly up or off of trucks (like the 2 that passed by Mike on this test drive) and put a ding, dent or chip on my vehicles. Drive these vehicles on your property for the test drive. Keep them pristine. Tom.
@DRDRE-ex6ygАй бұрын
I sure hope they don't listen to you, like totally ignore you!!!! There's no vehicle that's so precious that you're afraid to drive it, what's the point of owning a beautiful ride and being afraid to drive it? What a waste that would be.... Never put that kind of value in material things, instead just enjoy the short moment we have here.
@mrknotthallАй бұрын
@@DRDRE-ex6yg You totally misunderstood what I said. Maybe if you read my post clearly and understood it, you would realize I said "don't drive it on a TEST DRIVE"! You wanna sell a pristine vehicle? Sell it w/o any stone chips on it. After it gets a stone chip, it's not pristine anymore. I told Jay he should drive it on his own property where there would be no other cars or trucks coming the other way that would throw up a stone and chip, dent or ding the car you're trying to sell. Geez, read the post clearly dude.

@@mrknotthall Your argument is valid. Although , not many people have enough private property to obtain highway speeds , Transmission shifts at operating temperatures , Etc. to adequately test drive a vehicle. Maybe Volo does. Please don't consider this comment as a gripe or insult. Just a consideration.

We need to work on efficiently filming on our own road. We are so backed up with videos for right now we are filming them on the street like we have been. As soon as we have time we will figure out how to use our private road.

2,256 original miles and a 305 was swapped out for a 350 for an owner who was obviously a stickler for originality ? Maybe it sat for 30 years and the engine seized up ? Could be other reasons, but I'm suspicious.
