1987 Chevy Monte Carlo Luxury Sport Test Drive

One of my all-time favorites. I just have to say it right now. Whether it is this Monte Carlo, a Regal, a Grand Prix, or a Cutlass Supreme , the GM G-Bodies have probably the cleanest styling of any car that GM ever built. They spoke of sheer class, elegance, flair, & luxury without being ostentatious or over-the-top. I just LOVE the look of that dash!!!!! True story: When I was little (I'm 42), my father brought home an '81 Malibu Classic as a company car, & I remember how fascinated I was by the vertical row of warning lights illuminating one by one when he started the engine.

I bought one of those cars in 1987 new and I loved it. Traded it in for 1992 Thunderbird, which was a totally different animal. There where no Monte Carlos made in 1992 when I went to get a new car. I wish I still had that Monte Carlo. My dream Monte Carlo, would be a 1976 or 77 model. I looked at buying a new Monte Carlo again after they started making them in about 1997, but I did not like them due to the front wheel drive and the automobile was not as smooth riding as the older models and I did not like the way they looked. Looked again at them in 2006 where I considered a Monte Carlo SS ended up getting an impala SS.
