It's awesome seeing pre-history through these classic college football games. 2/3 of the legendary Triplets are playing against each other in that game.

@@jedwardmorrisful The best part is when a touchdown is scored you could actually get happy and celebrate instead of waiting around for 10 minutes while the ridiculous instant replay refs look at it from 100 different angles before confirming it.

Life is funny. In this game , Randy Shannon intercepts Kerwin Bell for a TD. Now...Shannon is the Defensive Coordinator at Florida...

@@ralphkern380 And he coached the Miami Hurricanes for a while and threw up all over himself in the process. How he ever got another position in any coaching capacity after ruining Miami is beyond me.

This is the end of the University of Miami and University of Florida Series in 1987 will renewed in 1992. But in 1990 when Steve Spurrier was hired as the new head coach he wants the Hurricane on that Schedule in a home-and-home series for 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 2000-2005 but things changed Conference Expansion of the SEC adding two schools and Eight Conference Games instead of seven dropping Miami-FL off Florida's 1992 Scheudle paying $75,000 to end the series.

DeAngelo Stevens In fairness to Florida, imagine playing an 8 game SEC schedule plus FSU and Miami! The addition of the 12th game in the 2000's gave Florida and Miami the opportunity to schedule a couple home-and-home series. I don't think we will ever see that rivalry played every year.

When Steve Spurrier wants to play Dennis Erickson's Miami Hurricanes in 1992 but when the SEC Expanded eight conference games they have to dropped Miami off that schedule before Erickson's resignation for the NFL Team in 1995.

I'm a die hard UM fan. I definitely understand now why UF ended the rivalry with UM. I loved the "U" back in the day as I still do now. And the climate has changed where now UF and FSU have now been traditionally better than UM after 2000. UF had somewhat of a brutal schedule being in the SEC and playing UM and FSU back in the day. But that's also why I revered the "U" playing both UF and FSU and winning. Both UM and FSU were independents at that time, and had much more flexibility towards scheduling. I remember the SI article criticizing UF for dropping UM off their annual schedule. I now understand the writer of that article was wrong. In fairness UF had a pretty good record against UM before UM started dominating the rest of the 1980's. Overall, it's about winning the polls to play for No. 1

Emmitt got 1341 rushing yards in 1987 and they dont even use him in a game this big.poor coaching. He ended up 9th in heisman voting

This is the first game of his freshman season. The coaches crystal ball didn't tell him that Smith was going to be the best runner in UF history, so he gave the frosh spot play.

In the 90's Auburn kept FSU, and Georgia Tech off their home-and-home due to the Southeastern Conference Expansion. War Eagle
