I still remember the story with racing driver John Nielsen at Le Mans. The team couldn't figure out why his front wheels only were doing around 230 km/h down the Mulsanne Straight, compared to his rear wheels doing 360-370 km/h. The front end was lifting off the ground during top speeds.
@jstoli996c4s5 жыл бұрын
VIZIN that is a scary thought. How did it not flip?
@Vazin5 жыл бұрын
@@jstoli996c4s I think it was a combination of luck or John being able to control or "feel" the lift.

@@jstoli996c4s definetly some kind of aero thing. At those speeds it gets so unpredictable
@jeremyrichards83277 ай бұрын
That sounds rather strange as that is 100 kph difference or 60 mph. The amount of lift to achieve that would have been extremely dangerous. The Jag used ground effect extremely well due to being a V12 and having larger tunnels either side of the block.The Porsche was a flat 6 and was more difficult to get the same amount of downforce. Possibly there was another reason for the speed difference maybe tyre expansion?
