What a great goal by Mats ! And to Ray Bourque's defence who was the man covering Naslund on the play, there is no way he could forsee such a brilliant move by the Viking. Top notch 👌

Wow! Naslund did the "Forsberg" (on the goal) before the move became known as such many years later.

That "Forsberg" was actually preceded my Mario Lemieux, so it's actually the "Mario Lemieux"

You've been told correctly. they should've never demolished it. They should have turned it into practice/training facility + Habs museum.

Yeah, went to many games there in the late 60s and early 70s, mostly Jr. Canadiens, but a few Habs games. Pretty awesome.

Cam Neely always took his game to another level Vs Montreal and almost won this game by himself!! He actually was successful, on many other occasions! What a beast! Take away the bad luck injuries, along with Gord Kluzak and that Boston team should have won at least 1 cup in the 80's or early 90's. Of course the Oilers would argue that one ;) I wonder if Vancouver would like to trade for Cam? How about, 1 for 1? We have this Barry Pederson kid, scored over 90 points as a rookie. Sorry Vancouver. If it makes you feel a bit better, you stole Lumme from us, for Jassen Cullimore, if my memory serves me.......which is a coin flip these days. Lol Cheers from Montreal

The Habs have not had a centre like Bobby Smith, since Bobby Smith. And that move by Naslund is the Forsberg before there ever was a Forsberg.

On dirait que Naslund reculait par peur de voir les gros joueurs tous s'empiler par dessus lui.🙂 Merci Mats! Thanks Mats! It looked like he was backing up not wanting the bigger players piling up on top of him.

Wow, way to go Vancouver for trading Neely for Pederson. That was like trading to get a broken down Buick Skylark, a car that was good in it's day but is past it's prime, by giving up a brand new Corvette. That franchise will never win a cup!

The Canucks gave up on Neely because he was young and loved to party, they wanted an experienced, wholesome veteran like Pederson to score and not be a distraction off the ice. If it's any consolation the Bruins made the exact same mistake 25 years later for the exact same reason. They gave away Tyler Seguin to Dallas becase he was 21 and loved to party. They'll never win another Cup in my lifetime

different style - they taught goalies back then to 'stand up', thinking it covered more of the net. Then someone noticed that butterfly goaltenders seemed to be more successful, and that most goals were scored along the ice - so by the 90's most goalies were doing butterfly.
