Gotta love how the Giants and Mets worried themselves sick wondering whether Scott was scuffing the ball. Dude totally lived in their heads. No wonder he dominated them. Even the goofy announcer bought into it.

I think he put his hand in his pocket to try to draw attention there. Get the umps to say "hey, let's see what's in that pocket", and there's nothing there because he'd actually stuffed it down his shirt. "Ok, we checked, let's get on with the game."

See, that's where you and everyone who says that is wrong. If there was a game 7 against Scott, the Mets would have found a way to win. That was their year...they were a team of destiny. Just how they found a way to win Game 6 in Houston....Just how they found a way to win in Game 6 in the WS. One way or another, a team of destiny doesn't lose. It might have been a 1 - 0 Met win. Who knows. Either way, they win because a team of destiny doesn't lose.

The Houston manager blew it big time in game 6! All he had to do was put Scott in game 6 to close out the game. But he was thinking of playing Scott in game 7. But there would be no game 7 if the Astros lost game 6. Everyone I watched that game with were yelling at the TV to put Scott in the game. He was the most dominant pitcher in the league. But the manager didn’t and have the game and series to the Mets. Mike Scott was one of the best pitchers in baseball.

@@Brooklyn3955There are no teams of destiny. No team is destined to win. That’s just superstition that implies a supernatural force that affected the game. If that supernatural force had a shred or morality it would’ve fed the 33,000 kids who starve to death every day instead of focusing on a lowly ballgame. If the Houston manager put Scott in game 6 the Astros would’ve won and the series would’ve gone to game 7. Houston had a deep pitching rotation. They would’ve outpitched the Mets. Scott could’ve even pitched in game 7 too. Why not? He had the entire off season to rest.
