Thanks. My best advice on wiring is to pay extra for the 5 speed w58 conversion. It's not cheap but it cuts most of the wiring down and frees up 20-30 more hp. No other bolt on performance mid will do that for $700. You will only need to wire up less than 8 wires. I may post up a video of the basic wiring. It's very easy

I used the stock trans mount and made my own engine mounts. There is a guy on eBay that sells mounts for this swap now. Search 1uz toyota truck swap on eBay.

I have a low mileage toyota pickup and my 22re blew, it's a piece of junk and i'm seriously contemplating the 1uz idea, so with custom mounts and bellhousing you were able to use the stock driveshafts? I have someone who can do wiring and exhaust, it's just the clutch, and mounts that i'm worried about

How fast do you think your truck would do the quarter mile ?

William Neigum I've run the truck down the quarter mile 3 times. I've consistently gotten 14.1-14.3 seconds at 99 mph trap speed with no traction thru 1st and 2nd gear. If I could get traction and a good launch, it's easily a low 13 second truck. Should hit the trap at a minimum of 110 mph.

Is it posible to keep ac and ps? Which mounts kit did u use?

I fabbed my own mounts. There is not much room for the ac in my swap. I mounted the motor as low as possible. I believe an ac compressor would not clear the steering box. I have power steering. Used the ls400 pump and the lines from a 1990 4Runner 3.0 V6 WITHOUT antilock brakes. Bolted up just like factory. The line must be for a non-antilock V6 4Runner though.

Can you still run A.C. in your truck with that motor?

Most people have had to move the engine to the right about 1/2 inch so the compressor will clear one of the steering box mounts.

What motor mounts did you use?

I cut the engine mount brackets off the frame of the truck with a sawzall and cutting wheel. I made clean cuts because I knew I was gonna reuse the mounts. I then realized that I could flip the brackets upside down and bolt it directly to the existing aluminum motor mount brackets on the 1uz. When I test fitted the motor in the truck with the brackets bolted up, I found the steel brackets were spaced perfectly between the frame rails again. All I had to do place the motor forward or backward to where I wanted and weld the frame brackets back to the frame. Solid mounts were done! The solid mounts also let me tuck the exhaust as close to the frame rails and cross members as possible without having to worry about the exhaust hitting anything as the motor moved if rubber mounts were used. The 1UZ is silky smooth and engine vibrations are minimal, even with solid mounts.

Gerrad Reynolds Yep. Stock 7.5" rear. I believe it's a 3.07 axle. I can hit 120-125 in 4th gear. Too scared to top out 5th.

Gerrad Reynolds light regulations in Richmond va. . No emissions testing but you must have a catalytic converter if originally equipped. Only annual safety inspections. If car is 25 years or older the inspection is waved if registered as an antique
