Enjoying this series! I was 25 when the Raider came out, I always thought they were cool-looking. Around 2000, I had a '87 Suzuki Samurai that just wouldn't pass smog. I ended up doing an engine rebuild over a weekend which took care of the problem. New subscriber from southern CA.

Craig Hiebert Hey awesome story on the Samurai man! Those are cool little trucks too...I’m giving some serious thought to swapping in a v8 next summer, maybe an early ‘90s mustang 5.0 with an Explorer trans... might be part 2 on the Raider rebuild.

Just got me a 1987 dodge Raider, it is exactly the same car you have there, so I'm havign some troble with the engine shaking quite a bit, so will take it apart and try to fix whatever it's wrong with it (by rebuilding the engine hehe) thank's for sharing this series, have been very helpful!!

juan ortega Hey man, good luck with your project. My first guess would be a cylinder not firing. Check spark at each plug. Otherwise you’ll have to dig into it further. Let me know.

Man, whomever was working on that thing before you was a little too creative. Good progress, one bit at a time, glad to see it coming together. Reminds me the master cylinder and brake lines on mine could use some attention as well.

I’ll just use this pickup sitting around to test the brake booster. Just a classic F100, nothing special...haha nice!

What, that old thing??... That was my dad's daily driver back in the 80's. I rebuilt it a few years ago, should have done a video series on it.

‘56...it’s a street rod. Has the suspension and front clip from a ‘68 Chevelle, so it drives like a car.

Ahhh man, and it's a '56!!! That's always been my dream truck as far as 2WD trucks go. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of that.

Where is the fuel filter on these?

On the frame directly under the left side of the engine. You’ll see a half-moon clamp that a filter clips in to.
