1988 Mercury Cougar Project - First Cougar walk-around and introduction

sweet build....I've been working on an 85 XR7 that is the same color as yours. Looks like all the same things I've been doing also. I want to install autometer guages like yours....how did you mount them in the cluster location?

Sorry for the delay on response. I used the original gauge cluster backing, just removed the front. Then I built a template to replace the front to attach as a flat plate while drilling the holes for the new gauges. I hope to rebuild the gauge cluster in the future as this way doesn't allow for a lot of room for larger and deep gauges. I did build this a long time ago though, so maybe gauges have changed since.
