I agree - looks to be around 219 and not a foul. Not quite enough for the bronze. He did win the gold in 1976 and the silver in 1984. Who knows what he could have done in the boycotted 1980 games during his physical peak.

I guarantee the winning distance in ths years olymics in RIO probably wouldnt have made the final 8 in the 1988 olympics. Gee, I wonder why that is?

It was a foul. Mac needed a firmer shoe haha. The right side of his right foot was resting outside the circle, even though the soul of the shoe was inside the ring.

They all used drugs, especially Mac, Wolfgang, John Powell, Schult, just about every elite athlete in the 70's and 80's were on drugs. Mac's technique when he threw the world record and won the gold in Montreal was god awful, the drugs is what helped him accomplish so much. After coming back his technique was way better and more efficient but years of drugs and age were catching up to him so he wasn't able to throw as far as he used to.
