Oh the terraces, I'd give my right bollock to have them back, it's strange to think that this day was probably the final nail in their coffin. An all time hero like Simon Garner now having to make a living as a decorator, how times have changed, I can't imagine Ronaldo et al having to don their overalls in a few years time. THERE'S ONLY ONE SIMON GARNER.........

Saw Gerry Taggart podcast a few week ago, he references this game as a very early one in his career and says he got mullered all day by Rovers. Great footage.

@@unclejacksbluewhitearmy did great for us down the road from you at Bolton, and as you say did very well. Top lad too, once did a charity do ( took an ill kiddy out to tea, signed shirt, tickets etc, when another player dropped out at last mo. Didnt need to do it and wanted nowt for it. Sort of thing that goes a long way. Great vid from the era....amazing how things have changed but sort of stayed the same!

I was in the blackburn end drinking a bovril from the stall in the top right corner & heard the net ripple the top right corner, from simons thunderbolt... what a sound that was...i can still hear it to thus day.. fantastic memory..
