After a cold start the next morning with the AC on high, there were no squeaks. 😉🤞

My weatherstripping had no glue, and I installed the new one without glue too. It was a perfect fit

Glad that you didn't BS us and say that the old molding pops right off . When I did the hatch molding I didn't use any adhesive since I never drive when it's raining and I have not had issues with water coming in while washing the car . Only you can make the call on this , but I don't think you need the adhesive .

I did all my weather stripping on my 89, it was not too bad. I have never done this before, I did it by myself, if possible have someone help the extra set of hands are so handy and helpful. I live in Arizona and did not use a lot of adhesive, I used it mainly in the corners. I watched a bunch of you tube videos on how to install the weather stripping They were very helpful. I would highly recommend to watch them.

I just used sealant as adhesive for mine, but if you do that be warned don't use too much. Also if you have to replace the rear hatch weather stripping, it will be near impossible to close and has to stay closed for a month to compress the strip. I had to replace all the weatherstripping on my 85 and holy crap that old adhesive is ridiculously good.

Yes that glue gets quite hard when it gets old. Thanks for the advice about the hatch, I'm going to try to reattache mine. Its not to bad, it just has a small tear in a corner.

Don't use the EPDM weatherstripping, use latex. The EPDM stuff is garbage.

LOL, too funny. Those clips were my first mods. When I first used them the one on the PS slipped out immediately and I was like "WTF is this shit? Worst design ever!" The saw these on Ecklers. I feel this is a MUST do mod for all C4 owners.

Don't know if you already tried but those squeak pads looks like they attach to the car it's self the instructions you showed us looks that way to me.

Told you it was the tention on the belt. I've seen that more times than I can count. Now if I heard you right you don't have the right model for those pads. That top changed somewhere near 90 ish.

My '94 had the roof panel pads. Believe me it still rattled. The pads were worn down almost perfectly flat. I didn't put any more money into it because my top had many delamination cracks and was going to replace it. My point is the pads do go on the roof. Perhaps they need to be trimmed? I sold the car before replacing the roof. I'm a big fan of Corvette Central for C4 parts.

Thanks for sharing, good to know.
@doctyler53823 жыл бұрын
Corvette Central doesn't make the parts they just sell them for someone else. The pads don't work. Good thing you didn't end up fixing it. lol

The Roof Panel Eliminator Kit. Try to fit it on the corvette body itself and not the roof panel. Hope this works for ya,.

The rear cover is suppose clip on over the top not under the mount.. Waste of money
@ReynoldsRides4 жыл бұрын
Your comment makes no sense. Watch the video again. The cover on the passenger side would slip underneath the clip (after bringing it over the top). The new clips prevent it from doing that. How is it a waste of money if it fixes the problem?
