This Cadillac is the definition of a Sunday driver. Car pooling to church with your friends and elegantly stepping out of the car. Then going to a nice restaurant for Sunday lunch and getting looks from people who are awestruck and some who are scowling with envy.

I swapped a strong running 455 Buick engine into my 1984 Fleetwood. Also I am using a Turbo 350 transmission because the stock TH 200 is too weak. Its really fun to drive. My mechanic mounted a 160 MPH Autometer speedometer to the dashboard. I would like to find out how fast it can go but I get scared when I make it up to about 150 and then I will start slowing down. I love how it sounds. Nothing beats the sound of a American big block V8 engine with 3 inch pipes and the right kind of glasspack mufflers.

Here in Pinellas County Florida you can run across older Cadillacs what's low miles due to the fact that's rr2 Cadillac dealerships and a senior population that has bought these cars when they retire.

Nice car! Those 307 Olds engines were dogs tho. I had one in my '82 Riviera Conv. Reliable, and started at the flick of the key - but it was a gas hog and no oomph off the line. Tops out at about 95.

I had a 97 Deville myself, but they are gas guzzlers after all, and mine was bleeding me dry from record high gas prices in B.C , so I reluctantly had to let mine go for a more economic Mazda 3, but I still miss it to this day...

Did someone paint that vinyl roof? It should NEVER be that shiny. It's very clean, but the paint repair was botched badly. With the headliner, bumper fillers, and probably other things replaced, this makes a VERY tempting deal !I'm looking for a d'elegance with a sunroof, but this is a great find! There are those who say the HT4100 was the best engine, and others who say the Olds engine was best. I'm not aware of any reason to choose one over the other.

@VinylToVideo5 жыл бұрын
Huh? Do not buy any Brougham unless it had the 5.7. The 4100 is junk, and I own a FWD Fleetwood with it's successor the 4.9 (which is far better).
@TeeroyHammermill5 жыл бұрын
>larzDJsmith: They offered so many different engines between 80-89 I can understand why opinions differ. I think the best 80's motor was the Carbed 368 which was 1980 only. IMO it wouldn't matter which motor is in it these days because no one in their right mind would use an 80's car as a daily driver-(it's surely a weekend toy at this point). I'd avoid diesels though.
@VinylToVideo5 жыл бұрын
@@TeeroyHammermill I have a '91 Fleetwood coupe 4.9 as a daily driver. While the engine was introduced in '91, it isn't any better on fuel than the 80s cars except perhaps in cruise on the highway at a consistent speed. Mind you, I'm not necessarily in "my right mind" but I don't care as I just want to drive the car I want to drive.

@johansilwouden34033 жыл бұрын
Are these cars well protected against rust? In my country, the Netherlands, we probably have the same climate as PA. Lots of rain, sometimes snow and frost. And our municipalities put a lot of salt on the roads in the winter. 5 minutes of snowfall is enough!
