Very Nice! Lucky to have a solid frame with no rust.

Good job, should be good for another 30 years now. I'm just wrapping up a tub swap and repaint of my '95 YJ, so I can appreciate how much work you guys must have put in. My replacement tub was in way better condition than yours, but my fenders were full of rust.

Nice! we're working on a frame off resto on a 77 cj7 now (it's on my channel if you haven't seen it), and also a 92 YJ and I just picked up an 81 CJ8 Scrambler which will be after those two are done. lots to do this winter!

A great video and what an ordeal (or mission) you accomplished! I am impressed. Helped me stay in the fight on my YJ project. Take care, Carry On!

Awesome job. Gotta say, I can't help but think you might have saved yourselves a lot of work by opting for a better donor body, but you made it work! Awesome!
@FatherSonGarage3 жыл бұрын
heh, the donor body was an exchange for an old motorcycle I had around so the price was right ;) thanks!

@@FatherSonGarage I would have done the same!

nice 10 (lol) minute project, my 89 has same hood decal, this turned out great - hope to see more of the YJ

believe it or not, that 89 YJ is in France now.. some guy contacted me and offered to buy it. After I got over the obvious thoughts it was a scam, it turned out to be true! so now I have 2 CJ's and a 92 YJ to work on...

What a cool video! Love the channel name! I drive the yj's younger tj brother. Envious of your shop, thought it was an old airplane hanger at first. Jeep turned out great! Are you going to do videos on your other jeeps?
@FatherSonGarage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! I've got a thing for the older one's I think.. That shop is my Dad's but I work out of my 2 car garage now mostly but its a good size. On my channel, there are videos of the 92 YJ I'm working on, my 77 CJ7 and I have an 81 CJ8 Scrambler I'll be doing next. Would love another subscriber if you want to see. I'm almost ready to paint the tub on the CJ7 so I'll have another video up in a week or so. Cheers!

I`m getting ready to restore my 95, probably going to put a new frame under it, It would be really helpful if someone who has taken one apart would print a manual or if just a how to .
@FatherSonGarage3 жыл бұрын
I'm working on a 92 right now. I don't have a manual (I should make one!) but feel free to ask if you have any questions!

where did you happen to find the YJ decal for the hood?
@FatherSonGarage2 жыл бұрын
The jeep actually had that decal before i started so i got a friend to measure the existing one and then design a new one for me and i just got it recut as a new decal. Happy to share the file if you need it!

Looks great! What color did you go with? Looks like almond beige? Did you do a custom dash?
@FatherSonGarage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The color is an 89 YJ color. It's called Sand, the code is PY5. The dash is the oem dash, just cleaned up! Cheers!
@jeffstewart41623 жыл бұрын
Apparently they made the Sahara model in that color but I can’t find one for the life of me. I have the khaki metallic in a 91

How much does it cost to refurbish everything? I have1990 Jeep yj. Need help. Thank you

For what we did, we spent about 3 grand, but we put a lot of hours in too. good luck!

You going to stick with the stock gas tank? And how long did it take you to do all of that?
@FatherSonGarage3 жыл бұрын
Hey Josh, we did use the stock tank on this one. It was built over a winter but if I guessed at hours.. I'd say 150-200 or so. I didn't really keep track on it, was having too much fun!
@edwoiszwillo54934 жыл бұрын
A beauty. How much time and $$ to get this result? I'm debating a similar project on my '89 YJ but don't know if it's worth it.
@FatherSonGarage4 жыл бұрын
I'd say I spent about $2500-3k to do this, but lots of hours. I didn't really track that part but it got done over a winter.. probably a couple hundred hours in total but worth every minute!

4.2 was an inline engine... just pointing out the v6 is incorrect. This jeep never came from the factory with a v6.
@FatherSonGarage3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, though I knew that.. did I call it a V in there somewhere? Thanks for catching it. Was probably thinking about one of the 8's we'd been working on..lol
