She is brilliant at both classical and jazz. How talented can one person be?

Katia is a huge inspiration. My favourite Keyboardistress/female pianist in both classical, Jazz and Fusion.

Wonderful playing - why don't we hear more of Katia and her sister Marielle playing jazz piano? I'm sure they're both kept very busy with the classical concert repertoire, but even so, it seems something of a waste of talent...

She's playing this "jazz" exactly as she would a classical piece. John wrote out her parts note for note. She's not improvising at all here and not thinking through (chord) changes like a jazz musician. They may be playing jazz, but she's definitely playing it as a classical pianist. The same was true when they were actually in a jazz band together in the early 80s. John wrote her keyboard solos

@@tomhazelton3070 how do you know he wrote out her solos note for note, i'm curious? thanks!

@@AbstractMan23 I read that somewhere. And it makes total sense. She plays her solos exactly the same way every time. They even sound like something John would write. They are amazing actually, He really put her to the test, and she delivered..
