1989 mariner / yamaha 15 hp short shaft

My personal 1989 mariner / yamaha short shaft motor. she runs amazing. i can see why everyone loves these little motors.

hey thanks for understanding. i think these are even better than the omc's. as for the 70, i dont really work on the larger motors. i have had a evi 50, merc 50, and a chysler 50. of all of them the merc seemed to have more power and idled really nice. personally i would go with a merc on larger than 35 hp.

Very nice motor, if I was you and that was my motor, I would NEVER sell it...

i feel the same way. it is a great motor, low hours (almost new under the hood) but alas, if i kept every motor, i would never have any space in my shop lol. she is selling for a nice price, so, i will again have some working capitol. dino

I have a Merc version of yours, I just ordered a carb kit for it, Mine has the tiller/throttle shift which I don't care for. I am going to see if I can make either a shift lever or a throttle wheel to set idle prior to shifting. then I think it'l be a good little kicker, yours looks nice and sounds great.

i didnt know merc made a version. this is a yamaha in mariner colors. impeller and carb are different than the merc but parts are the same as the yamaha (gee wonder why lol) this motor is really nice. wanted to keep her but...

Hello I have this Motor. One of the transom clamp bolts is bent so won’t screw up! Any guidance how to fix it?

Can you cut it off, and use a bolt?

Yeah, I guess you are right...anyway, nice video...also, I have a question, Have you ever had any dealings with 70 hp Johnsons, if so, are they any good?
