Thanks for the video. I have to change my gear shift sharf do I have to slit the case. Thanks for any help.

You’ll have to take off both outer sides of the case but you should then be able to pull/tap the shaft all the way out without splitting the case. You should be able to do it on the quad. Study a few videos to get an idea but it’s doable. I’ve never had to do it in the frame as I’m usually taking the motor out but you don’t have to split the case.

My gear shift has been welded to the sharft I have a new sharft and want to change it to make it easier to change the oil filter

You can remove the shift shaft without splitting the cases. Once you cut off the welded part you can ‘push’ it through with a screw driver etc. you will need to open up the other side of the case and I believe pull the clutches though if I recall correctly.
