The timex isn't a direct copy. It's their Marlin Reissue (which is a direct Reissue of an original Timex watch from decades back) only with a chronograph added on. It doesn't even qualify as an homage. It's a wholly original watch.

@@bertholdbach4959 not at 7.5k$, I've owned an early F1 chrono which I got for under 800$ maybe 20 years ago, sold it. TAGs should be sub 2k$ because their reputation is in the gutter today. IWC Portuguese Chrono is roughly the same price as the TAG above (8k$) or the Baume & Mercier Baumatic rose gold at the same price present much better value horologically.

if I am not wrong the Timex has a quartz movement with the chronograph and not an automatic as shown in your video , as I understand is you have started the chronograph feature making the second hand move swiftly to make the watch look like an automatic and making the video more appealing .

Timex clearly has a quartz movement, you can clearly see the second hand on the bottom subdial ticking in a quartz pattern. The large second hand on the chrono is just a sweep imitation.

I own and have owned high end Rolex and Omega watches, and none of the mechanical watch ownership makes sense these days if you're going to wear them. Most people I hang with are wearing name brand smartwatches. I'm certain that bespoke cases and bracelets can be had for the smartwatch electronics, accessories that can bling it out to stunning is appearance.

They don't look THE SAME. I'd say quite similar and in that the Timex looks finer than the Tag because I loke how they have slimmer hourly markings - looks more apt for a mid-sized dial. It's also true that I won't spend upwards of $1000 on a watch that's just for aesthetics and/or prestige.

Most Timex' are disposable. If it breaks just buy another one. Or have 4-5 of them. I've seen them taken apart and the movements are bare minimum. There is little in the way of cachet. I got the only one I own from my father before he passed. Just a functional piece. I don't know how long he had it but it is still ticking. It is a quartz.

Great idea to put numbers on the dial so I don't get confused. I'm used to wearing digital casio watches, but I'll switch to Timex, as long as they keep those numbers, but only four numbers are on the watch, and it doesn't even give you the days of the week or month😢

Timex Q Chronograph for me tho, the Rolex Daytona inspired one, I just dislike the font for 9 - 12 - 3 and the date on the Marlin Chronograph (the Q at the 12 hour mark did take some getting used to esthetically)

quartz funtion in chronograph is so much accurate, and maintenance quartz seemly wont happen, mechanical chronograph maintenance would be double timex quartz price, so GG. I would refer quartz in complication watch…but if you have lot of money, who care right, watch show your style and how rich you deserve to have…good luck , i think for good price, go with omega speedmaster 2nd…mechanical and fair price
