God I miss the 90’s. Love the cheesiness of it all.

Stormy Eaton seems like he was such a nice man. His premature death is so sad.

Yeah from what I heard he was one of the good ones.

Sandy was very lucky she didn't have the time to do any further rotating, I'm glad she's alright, the mishap was so similar to Vanessa Atler's 2000 Olympic trials beam mishap

Great to see Woolsey smile even after the mishap on her dismount.

I think this is the year my mom took me to see this! We went with a few other girls from my gym and our coach. Great memories. I think this comp was at patriot center a few years in a row.

It's terrible to hear Belas comment. I know he has done a lot for gymnastics, but for children like Sandy or Brandy, his system to make the selection of gymnasts for his teams was completly unfair.

I didn't catch his comment. Do you have a time stamp?
@saragrant9749 Жыл бұрын
He did absolutely nothing for gymnastics besides abuse and destroy multiple athletes. He and his wife should be in prison for allowing the sexual abuse by Nasser to go on like it did. His accomplishments as a coach are nothing when you realize how they happened

Woolsey came to my gym in Colorado for christmas when I was young. I was amazed by her. She was the first elite gymnast I'd seen in person. And she was a great person

Just came from the 1989 USA-USSR dual meet where Woolsey made the same mistake on her beam dismount.
@justinjkj Жыл бұрын
I thought she had made that mistake more than once. How scary. Glad she didn’t get seriously injured either time.

The scoring is a little suspect in this competition...
@saragrant9749 Жыл бұрын
Not as bad as at the worlds or Olympics before the end of the Soviet Union. Those scores were BLATANTLY biased towards only two countries- USSR and Romania. No one else mattered.

Tim Dagget looks like he’s 12! 😯 Also Stormy Eaton reminds me very much of Steve Nunno.

Glad Kim changed her music. Not terrible but 'In The Mood' fit her much better.

And as per usual with every American Cup broadcast, the rules are made up and the points don't matter. They always make it sound like this is such a prestigious event, when many of the best international athletes avoid it because it's always ridiculous.

elise ray was born in Feb 1982, so she would have been 8 years old at this competition. The little girl is super cute, but definitely younger than 8.
