Great Rookies and Superstars in these 1990 Pro Set Hockey Cards Fun Pack Opening
1990 Pro-Set were distributed as a first series (#1-405) and Series II (#406-705) which made this the largest hockey card set until almost 20 years later when 2008-09 O-Pee-Chee Hockey cards was released with a staggering 800 cards.
Like most of the Pro Set Sports Cards, 1990-91 Pro Set is filled with errors including wrong players pictured, spelling lessons needed, countless inconsistencies with the design, and one very expensive bloody nose, the set was strangely produced to say the least! Seriously - very very trypical of many sports cards manufacturers during the junk wax era. Also, the "garbage bag" packs were very similar to Score Hockey cards - which of course led to card damage.

There were rookies galore to be found and the checklist of rookies reads like a who’s who of 1990s hockey: Mike Modano, Jaromir Jagr, Curtis Joseph, Peter Bondra, Ed Belfour, and Jeremy Roenick, just to name a few - which were split in series 1 and series 2.
All stars of the 1990 were also included including Gretzky, Lemieux, Roy and many many more! These were a lot of fun to rip - to say the least!
Strangely, the folks at Pro Set failed to add future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur to the mix, but they made up for it with what had to be the best chase of the summer: the Stanley Cup hologram card that is limited to just 5,000 copies!
