Anybody remember Nano Pets? The Tamagotchi craze had created a few competitors and one of them was Nano Pets. I remember getting one with a cat and I enjoyed playing with it. My parents wouldn't let me have a Tamagotchi and I found a Nano Pet in the trash one day, so I had to keep it and somehow despite not being able to care for it while at home, it thrived for longer than I anticipated. You brought up the fruit drinks of the 90s but your examples were obscure. Examples not included yet wildly popular were Sobe, juicy juice and Mystic. Mystic had a wild promotion “get naked with mystic”

6:04 when this car came out I did a research paper on it for my science class in high school. I remember telling everyone they were going to be mass produced and replace gas cars in our lifetime. I told them the government would off tax breaks and other incentives to buy electric vehicles. My teacher knew I was right but my classmates laughed and scoffed at the idea…

At one point I had to do a paper on what I thought the future would be like, and I remember saying that personal computers would stop being so popular, and people would start subscribing to "Computing" as a utility. My version was basically that everyone would have dumb terminals in their homes, and all the processing and storage would be handled remotely by a mainframe. You would simply buy server time. Now with mobile internet and cloud computing more or less dominating the landscape, I'd say I was pretty much bang on target.

I moved from mid KY to Detroit in 99, and my family was in the Cincinnati area. I came home almost every weekend. My F-150 had 2 tanks, and gas on the high side, by the interstate was .99 a gallon. I could afford to fill both tanks in those days. And I paid cash for my 3-year-old truck, that was beautiful, for 1500.00. Thanks for another great video.

Great video. I do remember some of these. I would also add Devil Sticks to the list. Seemed like every kid in school had a set of them. We used to take them outside, do all kinds of tricks, and see who could keep their set going the longest without dropping it. Lots of fun. The 90s were definitely cool ✌️

I drank a lot of Zima during the 90s at the clubs. It was great with a shot of grenadine in it. It had a short-lived comeback back in 2020. I bought several cases of it, and still have some. (Jan Griffiths).

@@RhettyforHistory Yes I think you downplayed how popular it was with guys too in the beginning. I tried ONE, in a bar one night. I was not impressed. Personally I hate all the flavored malt liquor crap (not talking about like St. Ides malt liquor, that is a different class).
