I walked through there today 2023😢. I thought it was bad in the 90s I can't believe what is happening. It's an absolute dirty hell hole now. I really need to get my family away from this dirty town.😢

It was much nicer back then with more people, peaceful and clean. Now the only ones who walk the centre don't want to hang around very long

Yeah this is the early 90's (as someone pointed out). I remember the pedestrianisation of the centre, those bins and shelters being added, plus the building of the Crown Court I think. I don't remember much prior to the 80's, but I think that stuff came later down the line late 80's early 90's. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Havent lived in Luton for 30 years, had many a pint in the Wellington, when I was young the landlord had a members only policy.

The only way Luton can prosper, is for the airport to be expanded. If the Government stops expansion, they should be held accountable and hand over twenty to thirty million pound grants (due to lost profits) each and every year for the foreseeable future!
