I think the new NSX looks amazing and futuristic. Much better than the old one which looks a bit conservative for its day but still a classic design that's clean and functional. In my opinion Honda's these days have the best most strikingly beautiful futuristic designs that push the boundary rather than just following trends. Even today Honda make some of the best handling, high quality for the price and great interiors and of course the smoothest engines around so they're my favourite car company.

Just like the CRX successor called the CRZ, the new NSX should have been called a NSZ or something else again. One is a real Japanese RWD samurai, the other is an American iron grid battery-powered AWD toy. Great video

The new NSX is a perfect interpretation of the name NSX for today, just as the old one was a perfect interpretation of the name when it came out!
@nessuno54036 жыл бұрын
Skarphéðinn Sæmundsson then it looks like you don't know about either car. According to even Honda, the original NSX was New Sportcar eXperimental; the new one is New Sports eXperience. An apple and an orange, conceptually and in practice. One is a legend, the other an attempt at something new.
@skarpheinnsmundsson97416 жыл бұрын
If you look at my other answer here then I posted exactly what their names are and I am fully aware that they have different names but both are excellent interpretations of the NSX name nevertheless! If you knew what NSX is for Honda then you would understand! Nothing apples and oranges about it but exactly the same for Honda, A Halo car for the brand, both full of technology and both built to showcase what honda is up to at the time which happens to be 25years apart so obviously they will be somewhat different but the dna and concept is the same.

Skarphéðinn Sæmundsson 😴 the original was revolutionary, the new one is just catching up on existing projects. The only credit it has is that it's cheap relative to other hybrid supercars, but so are all other American built cars like this one.
@skarpheinnsmundsson97416 жыл бұрын
the old one wasn't any more revolutionary then the new one is, they both are essentially doing the same in the way they are bringing high tech at relatively low prices. and the car industry has come along way since the early 90's so bringing something totally new to the market will always be harder and harder but still they managed to bring out a machine that is pushing boundaries as they did with the old one!

I would be happy to take either (or both) cars. Classic NSX would perfect for a brisk Sunday drive scything through corners with its scalpel sharp handling and the new one as a legitimate option to aircraft travel as a continent crosser.
@gaboaaa236 жыл бұрын
yes right............because the new nsx isnt scalpel sharp

The old manual NSX never ever had a claimed 0-100 of 6.9sec. it was claimed and was somewhere in the mid-high 5sec for the 5speed manual 3l car, the automatic version was somewhere in the mid-high 6sec so you might be confusing the manual with the auto. And if you wanna complain about the price of the new one then you can also do the same with the old one cause let's not forget that it wasn't exactly cheap when it came out.

Great feature! I'll shame myself for not being aware of the '92 Targa victory; a gap in my NSX history knowledge this video filled. Great history lesson, and interesting comparison. Also, at 188,000km, that original car is just getting broken in. My '92 (Acura) NSX has 266,000 miles (~428,000km) on it and it still sees a track regularly.

If one car can demonstrate how a once great car company can lose it's way it is the new NSX. Surely a car no enthusiast could love.

Skarphéðinn Sæmundsson or that you're dillusional and have fallen for the modern marketing and romance of the original. Different creatures, starting with the fact new one is Yankee.
@skarpheinnsmundsson97416 жыл бұрын
Where the new one is made has got nothing to do with anything. I don't fall for marketing or romance of cars, I research and read all there is to find and if I get the chance I test for myself.
@nessuno54036 жыл бұрын
Skarphéðinn Sæmundsson you must be easy to please if you don't care about the origins of an icon remade. The only link is the badge, even the engine configuration of the new one had to change multiple times, and aside the hybrid powertrain, it's AWD. Couldn't have gone any farther than that from the original. Look at the Alpine A110 instead for a superlative recreation compared to the original.
@skarpheinnsmundsson97416 жыл бұрын
What you seem to think is that the name NSX somehow is an acronym for something else. Nowhere in it does it state that by making a new version you have to make the old one again, what would be NEW about that? It is a halo car for Honda, it is made to showcase what Honda is up to at any given time. And comparing it to what the Alpine A110 or any other car is just wrong cause it is not those cars and they are completely different machines, both in what they are and what they represent. When an NSX is made and follows what it's name suggests then you get something totally different each time cause times change and what is new today isn't tomorrow!

No matter what, one thing I know for sure that Honda will make any car that wear the badge NSX as brilliant and as awesome for all to enjoy !!! Long live the NSX !!!

Why the new NSX flopped: 1) Was designed by a woman.. soo take that as you like lol 2) Made in the USA and not Japan 3) No Manual option available
@keynesianeconomics41133 жыл бұрын
The price was the biggest reason. If it was priced at $300,000, they would have sold well. It's just that people couldn't justify spending $500,000 on a Honda when that gets you well into McLaren, Ferrari and Lamborghini territory.

@ajames7186 жыл бұрын
Ben Chesterman every supercar at that price point incurs tax. I'm not saying the NSX is a bad car, but why develop a supercar that is going to cost that much given your brand perception? That's what I blame for it's unfortunate failure.
@TassieLorenzo6 жыл бұрын
What brand perception? A perception of making well-designed and well-made motorcycles, cars, jetskis and equipment? :)
@ajames7186 жыл бұрын
Tassie Lorenzo your're not wrong I totally agree Honda's are good cars, however if anyone is spending $420,000 on a car, there's a high chance it's going to be spent on an exclusive brand such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, etc. Honda's perception is not supercars and that's why I think they can't sell many.
