Nice! You should upload a video of yours! Getting this one back on the road after a 20 year slumber honestly was a cake walk. It really didn't fight me... only thing I'm stumped on is the rear brake lights don't get power, but the CHMSL and every other light works normal.

@@mraiwa1000 if you havent done so already, FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE THE FILTER! and ONLY use "ATF+4". ANYTHING else will destroy the transmission.

@@michaelfox2436 Yep, not my first Chrysler. Have owned more than a dozen over the years, some even purchasing new. The Ultradrive transmission is a great smooth transmission. Sad nobody ever really maintains it, then complains when they have issues. If you have any clues about the aforementioned lighting issue as per my last reply, that'd be much appreciated!

I just got a 93. It’s my 4th New Yorker/5th Ave. All have had the amazing velvet interior, but none had a sunroof. They’re such incredible cars. I wish the 3.3 had around 200 hp rather than 140. That would have been plenty. My current one has the same colour interior with silver exterior. It’s so nice to drive.

Beautiful car!! Regarding the electronics… sounds like my theory is correct - cars with heavy dependence on electronics from this era will be dropping from the roads due to failed capacitors until their owners wisen up to this issue. Replacing modules isn’t the answer, as the repalcements have the same aged-out electrolytics - the answer is to tear into the modules themselves and start testing and replacing capacitors!

Thank you!!! I've bought used modules on eBay a dozen times and have lucked out with working units in the past, but yes a steadfast repair would be to rebuild the unit. Same with the radio, honestly. It always confuses me when in some aspects, they use top-notch components when building these electronics, but in others, they cheapen out on things like capacitors and so on.

@@mraiwa1000 Capacitors are a necessary evil unfortunately, and they don't last forever. I figure a lifespan of 20+ years is reasonable - you've got to figure the expected lifespan of this vehicle was between 5 and 10 years (which is literally the intended lifespan of most vehicles in the manufacturer's eyes), so they weren't even thinking about the lifespan of the electronics when they designed and built the car. If you want that car to last, I'd go through every single electronic module and start recapping. I've already done this to my 1994 Miata and trust me - it was absolutely necessary!

These were beautiful car's But typical Chrysler Corporation in the electronics. That engine did come from Mitsubishi...

No, the 3.0 v6 was the joint venture. The 3.3 like this and 3.8 were Chrysler in house made.

@@lamboleum I wasn't talking about 3.3 and 3.8 liter I was talking of the engines that where in the dynasty and the New Yorker of that era.

@@ralphabreu5022 well you did say 'that' engine. As far as I know the fifth Ave only came with the 3.3. The regular Landau and base had 3.0 an 4 bangers. Although I don't know why anyone would want a bigger luxury car and not at least get a v6. Lol

These were very nice and comfortable cars. I had one. The engines in these cars were not the best V6's Chrysler made. One had the change the oil very regularly and had to be careful not to overheat them. Then the engines would have a reasonable life.
