Probably the greatest McDonald’s ad I’ve ever seen. Wish they could do this again next year for 5.

I remember I got these for Christmas from my big sister. All three. I. Just have watched them over 50 times each. The second one was my favorite, Temple of Doom. But as I’ve gotten older, The Last Crusade is now my favorite. I wanted to be an archeologist back then so badly. Then I learned that most archeologists barely make money and spend more hours in the dirt than on adventures jumping off planes and swinging from ropes. 😁

Why the watermark? I remaster my retro ad collections in HD with AI software, rebalance the audio, apply a color restoration filter and still don't mark it in any way. If the idea is pop culture preservation and we didn't actually produce, write, edit, etc. the source material, it's not ours to mark

What year was this? Because I saw a commercial that said it was 1994 and another that says 1991. I remember when this happened because for one, I remember seeing the ad and secondly I remember the day my aunt and uncle got my copy of The Last Crusade in a drive thru. The thing is, if it was 1991 it'd be a miracle that I remember with such vivid detail because I was 3 years old. If it was 1994 that would make more sense.

Same here. I remember being in the drive-thru and my mother getting the VHS of Temple of Doom. It was my introduction to the Indiana Jones franchise. I would've been four in 1991, but maybe a second run on the promotion was done in 1994. I'm certain that was the year I first watched it.

You may be right about 1994. there was definitely a period of renewed interest around then when the Disneyland ride opened and the Super Nintendo game was released. My memory's fuzzy but it's likely they did this promotion twice.

Same question here. I thought it was 1993. I remember going inside to buy the tape (I think we bought Raiders) and coming home to watch it. I was also 3 in 1991, and, although I remember a lot of things from that age, it’s hard to imagine myself being interested in that movie at age 3.

I'm curious how much Last Crusade was at regular retail in 1991, I suspect Raiders and Temple would maybe be at the $10+ range given their age (making the $5.99+large sandwich price slightly less of a bargain) but Last Crusade would probably be ~$20 still?

On VHS? They went for 15-25 each depending on where you shopped.

Last Crusade was released in Feb. of '90 for $24.95
